Reading Report

Analysing Your Script
Submitting your script to our professional Script Readers, you will receive a 2-3 page general assessment of the project´s status quo, summarizing the content, presenting the core elements (the characters, conflicts, themes and its message, etc.) as well as a summary of its strengths and weaknesses.

Evaluation Of Your Scripts Potential
We provide a precise assessment of the quality of your characters, story structure, the theme of your script or novel, and the title and dialogue. In addition you will receive a summary highlighting your script or novel’s unique selling points, and an evaluation on your project’s market potential.

Cost-Efficient
If in timely fashion it is evident your screenplay or novel is not suitable for cinematic realisation, we will suspend the session and only bill you a partial fee.

Time-Efficient
For negatively judged projects we offer a phrasing of rejection.

Script Analysis

Close Attention
The proper analysis of a screenplay or novel requires much more than a reader report. With a 5-8 page in-depth feedback, a Script Analysis is more elaborate and detailed.

Strength and Weakness
Characteristics and weaknesses of a project are identified, as are dramaturgical failings, BuchScout offers solutions and encourages the author to revise them where necessary.

Optimizing
Solutions are expressed in a most practicable and concrete way, laying out a clear working plan and way forward.

Script Coaching

Collaboration
After defining and agreeing on the current status of a project, the common goals of all involved partners will be recorded in a protocol.

Rewrite
After an in-depth analysis we’ll then work out a realistic time schedule to apply our dramaturgical findings in a rewrite. The rewrite will take place in several stages, according to the project ́s needs.

Focus
Our attention will focus on: Finding the suitable structure for the story; to flesh out believable conflicts and authentic, vivid characters; to create authentic dialogue, drawn from life and tailored to each individual character; to create a theme and a message that are compelling throughout; to highlight the uniqueness of the script, making it recognisable and appealing to your target audience.

Creative Working Techniques
The BuchScout Agency works with various creative techniques, such as mind mapping, clustering, brainstorming, acting improvisations, and coloured graphs to support and accelerate the writing process in a positive, productive way.

Dramaturgical Work
As script consultants we see our part in the development process as a coach, a sparring partner and a midwife, helping the author to hone their story, to bring out its unique and impressive cinematic qualities. To this end we question, confront and support the author in a way that lets the story’s full cinematic potential emerge. Sometimes we intervene as a “fire brigade” or trouble shooter to enhance a script ́s quality for last minute financing. Or in cases of conflicts, we help to reestablish a positive working atmosphere.
